Space Available x Western Hydrodynamic Research Japan Pop Up
Space Available and Western Hydrodynamic Research present a radically upcycled capsule collection, crafted for utility and function. Made from hundreds of upcycled vintage outdoor jackets, transforming them into pockets and zip details for a range of one-of-a-kind pieces including sweats, t-shirts, and caps. Each piece features plastics scavenged from nature and has been finished by hand using artisanal hand-stitching and recycled plastic hardware. Recycled plastic beads are used to adjust the size of the caps.
The collection includes recycled plastic furniture and a surf rack made from recycled ocean-bound plastic.
This collaboration combines WHR's approach to DIY through utilitarian beach products and Space Available’s expertise in circular design strategy through a cultural lens while highlighting the artisanal nature of upcycling process.
The collection will be launched with a pop-up shop at the gallery of Trunk Hotel in Tokyo on March 15th and 16th.
